The owners of Sand Creek Farm were leaders in the raw milk industry and aquaponics in Texas. Sand Creek Farm itself and it’s owners have been the subject of documentaries in France, HGTV, and appeared in numerous magazine articles.
Since 2006 Sand Creek Farm owners utilized Sand Creek Farm as a training center for Young Farmers with direct to consumer as the main revenue source. With a diverse and easily scalable sustainable farm model for food production SCF could have 1 employee up to 13 interns and never miss a beat. The farm would often have all of these production areas operational: aquaponic vegetable and herb production, soil grown vegetables by tractor or horse drawn equipment, raw milk from the dairy cows and other creamery items, pastured chicken, pork and beef, as well as production of field grown vegetables. This does not have to be your model – but it was the current owner’s model until mid 2016. Now the farm is mainly wholesale organic herbs from aquaponics and a homestead.
